Do you love to solve a puzzle or figure out the solution to a problem?
Do you sit back and breathe easy when you know everything is running smoothly after you’ve sorted out all the kinks?
Maintenance at Summerland Waterfront Resort & Spa is the position for you.
The maintenance team at SWR is comprised of our ‘fix it’ people. They take care of the behind-the-scenes and ensure everything is running in tip-top shape. You’re the ones everyone calls when they need a hero.
The maintenance team is responsible to ensure the "plant" including the geothermal system, pool and hot tubs, in rooms, common areas are all functioning properly. Other special projects are involved as well. Our lead engineer will teach and train team members to feel confident with their resort asset maintenance knowledge and abilities.
We have a great team in a top-rated resort. This is your opportunity to feel proud of the job you do, put down roots and grow with a solid company who takes care of its employees.
If you have chili making skills... that is an asset too. Maintenance has yet to win the annual cook-off :).
Previous experience in a hotel is a real asset, almost a requirement, but we are prepared to train the right attitude and commitment. What IS a requirement is general construction and maintenance skills. A ‘jack-of-all-trades’ kind of personality is a great fit for this role. You need to be able to think on your feet, problem solve and think creatively. Expect for every day to be different in maintenance.
The team works 7 days a week so you must be available on weekends. The team splits "on call" evening shifts in case of emergency. It doesn't happen very often but it can.
