Policies

Summerland Waterfront Resort & Spa is happy to welcome dogs in our designated dog suites. We are committed to providing a relaxing and enjoyable stay for all our guests. To help us achieve this, all dog owners are required to adhere to the following terms and conditions:

  • All dog stays must be pre-arranged at the time of your reservation (in advance of your arrival) as we have a limited number of designated dog-friendly rooms available.
  • Dogs permitted at SWR are those under 22.68 kilos or 50 pounds. Dogs exceeding the weight limit may be allowed at the General Manager's discretion. Please contact the General Manager prior to making the reservation.
  • There is a daily dog fee of $35 per dog, to a maximum of $140 during your stay.
  • There is a maximum of 2 dogs per suite at any given time.
  • Dogs must be on leash in all public areas of the resort.
  • Dogs are permitted in the Bistro, but not in the pool and hot tub area or the fitness area.
  • Guide Dogs and Service Dogs are always welcome. Dogs are required to be in identifiable vests accompanying persons with disabilities. Proof of certification may be requested.
  • Upon checking in you will be asked to acknowledge and sign our pet waiver. This can be reviewed here.
  • Guests are responsible for any property damage or personal injuries resulting from their dogs. The hotel reserves the right to charge the guest's account commensurate with the cost of such damages.
  • If housekeeping services are requested, dogs must be safely secured in a kennel. SWR staff will not enter a room if a dog(s) is loose.

For Your Dog

What can you expect? What do you have to bring for your dog? We are happy to provide the following things to make your furry family member feel at home in your suite.

  • Food and water bowls upon arrival
  • Dog treats upon arrival
  • Variety of trails for walking and jogging
  • Peach Orchard dog beach is located 5 minutes North of the resort and is accessible on the walkway.
  • Peach Orchard Off Leash dog park is located 10 minutes North of the resort, another 5 minutes North of the dog beach
  • Dale Meadows Off Leash Dog Park is located in Summerland
  • Sunoka Beach Off Leash Dog Beach is located within a 10 minute drive from the hotel towards Penticton. There are signs in the parking lot for the dog beach which is a 5 minute walk on a wooded trail to the beach

Daily Charge

  • Advance reservations must be made as we have a limited number of dog friendly suites.
  • There is a $35 per day, per dog fee, to a maximum of $140 per stay.
  • Please call the resort directly to enquire about a dog friendly reservation.

Dog Friendly Accommodations

Dog own­ers are required to agree to and sign the dog pol­i­cy upon check in.
