Covid-19 Health & Safety Commitment

It has always been our great privilege to create a home and a haven for our guests, and keeping you safe is at the heart of what we do.

While we are monitoring the current situation in British Columbia, we are following guidelines provided by the province's health and safety orders.

During your stay, you will notice we have put additional measures in place to enhance our disinfection protocols as well as limited our in-room guest interaction to respect physical distancing measures. Please read below to learn more about our efforts and what to expect during your stay.

The Summerland Waterfront Resort & Spa has established COVID-19 operating procedures, in accordance with the Province of BC regulations, to ensure the safety and health of our guests and staff. Adherence to these regulations requires changes to our housekeeping service, pool and hot tub use, and more.

  • Check-in time is 4 pm (Fall to Spring)
  • Check out is 11 am (Fall to Spring)
  • Please send only one person to the front desk.

  • The hot tubs are sanitized daily and open from 8 am to 11 pm.

  • Daily housekeeping is provided upon request. Amenities deliveries can be made by calling the Front Desk. Our staff clean using gloves and PPE.
  • In addition to our well-established hygiene and cleanliness standards, the resort cleaning team is doubling efforts to disinfect all touchpoints in the hotels using a hospital-grade disinfectant.

  • Public areas are cleaned and disinfected with increased duration and frequency for door handles, public area push buttons, luggage carts, elevators, front desk, and all public areas.

  • Low contact check-in and check-out. We are not reusing guest room key-cards and pens are yours to keep.
  • Hand sanitizer dispensers have been installed at all high-touch points throughout the hotel - indoors and out.

  • Our leadership team is closely monitoring the British Columbia Public Health Orders regarding COVID-19 and following their recommendations on additional appropriate health and safety measures.

  • We are asking any team member who is exhibiting signs of illness, or generally feeling unwell, to self-isolate.

Yes, the Summerland Waterfront Resort & Spa is open and ready to serve our guests. Some of our amenities are closed and services are modified.

Open at the Resort:

  • Outdoor Hot tubs (sanitized daily, open from 8 am until 11 pm)
  • Closed for the season: Pool, SWR Boat Rentals
  • SWR Bistro - open 7 am to 11 am daily
  • Shaughnessy's Cove (neighbour restaurant, vaccine passport required)
  • Fire pits (outdoors and available based on weather)
  • Waterfront boardwalk & all outdoor trails
  • Complimentary bike rentals (helmets and locks included, available seasonally)
  • iKhaya Day Spa
  • Fitness Centre
