Meet at a top-rated resort on the shores of Okanagan Lake, where our small team handles every detail. At your corporate event, everyone plants a tree in BC, and your team will leave recharged, reconnected, and proud of what they left behind.
It's 7:30 a.m. on the second day of your retreat.
Your team is out on the dock, coffee in hand. The sun is just coming up over the hills across Okanagan Lake, and the water is perfectly still.
Somewhere between the first sip and the first session, the conversation turns to the ideas people have been sitting on for months.
Then someone asks, "Who found this place?"
You did.
Summerland Waterfront Resort & Spa is an all-suite lakefront resort in Summerland, BC, in the heart of Okanagan wine country. We host corporate meetings, retreats and team offsites all year, with one planning contact who takes care of every detail.
Your retreat also leaves something behind. For every attendee, we plant a tree in British Columbia, at no cost to you.
This guide covers everything you need to decide if we're the right fit, and to share with your leadership team.
The Okanagan Valley is one of the best regions in BC for a corporate retreat. You get lakefront venues, wineries, orchards and mild spring and fall weather, with two airports within an hour.
Summerland is a small wine-country town on the west shore of Okanagan Lake, between Kelowna and Penticton. Your team gets room to focus, with the lake on one side and vineyards on the other.
The Okanagan may be new territory for a group that is used to only boardrooms. That's the point. A fresh setting helps your team step out of their usual roles and routines, which is exactly what a retreat is for. Spring and fall also bring more open dates for groups.
Every guest stays in a suite with a full kitchen and a fireplace, so evenings come together naturally. A shared snack board in one suite. A recap on a lake-view balcony in another.
All 115 suites have fast WiFi and a work desk or a surface that can be used for a remote set up, and many have lake-view balconies.
Fly into Penticton or Kelowna. Penticton Regional Airport (YYF) is about 15 minutes from the resort. Kelowna International Airport (YLW) is about an hour away.
Connect from anywhere in Canada. Kelowna has direct flights from Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto and Ottawa. Teams from other Canadian or US cities can connect through Calgary or Vancouver.
Or make the drive. Many Lower Mainland teams drive in, and take advantage of the complimentary secure parking, available to all guests.
Spring and fall. The weather is mild, the wineries are open, and groups have more choice of dates.
Good to know by season:
We will confirm what's open for your dates in your proposal.
The Waterfront Ballroom seats up to 100 guests, with floor-to-ceiling windows and patio doors that open toward the lake.
The Loft Suite is a private meeting space for smaller groups. It seats up to 10 people around a harvest table, with a kitchen and panoramic lake views.
The BBQ area is a semi-private outdoor space for sessions in the fresh air.
We upgraded our meeting audio-visual (A/V) system in 2026. The ballroom has a 110-inch projection screen, a 6,000-lumen projector and Barco ClickShare, so presenters can share their screen wirelessly with one click.
Sound runs through a professional amplifier and speakers, with two wireless microphones. High-speed WiFi is complimentary.
The Total Meeting Package starts at $139 per person, with a minimum of 20 people. It includes:
Suites are priced separately. Prices are per person, plus tax and gratuity.
Leading a team of 10 or fewer? Ask about the Small Group Meeting Package, centred on the Loft Suite and priced to fit your plans.
Full catering is available for every meeting, from hot breakfasts and lunches to afternoon snack breaks, with Okanagan wines from Bottleneck Drive.
Dietary needs are handled with care. Megan C., a recent conference attendee, is a gluten-free vegan who usually packs her own food for work events. She wrote that the meals were "absolutely amazing, with delicious, protein-rich options."
The moments between sessions are often where teams connect most. Depending on the season, we can help you arrange:
Evenings can be as simple as a walk along the boardwalk or a gathering around the fire. For anyone who needs an hour to themselves, iKhaya Day Spa is right here onsite.
In August 2026, the Bald Range wildfire reached the hills above Summerland. Our team evacuated, and the resort closed its doors for three weeks.
When we reopened, we came back with a plan.
Every group that meets here now helps replant British Columbia's forests.
Through our partnership with veritree, a Certified B Corporation, we plant one tree for every attendee at every corporate meeting, retreat, conference and group event we host. The trees go into wildfire-affected areas of BC.
There's no minimum group size, no cost to your group and nothing for you to set up.
20 attendees. 20 trees.
50 attendees. 50 trees.
100 attendees. 100 trees.
veritree tracks and verifies every planting, so your impact is real and measurable. If your organization wants to go further, you can add a contribution of your own.
Before your final session, ask Kristy for your group's tree count. Then share it with the room.
"The 42 of us planted 42 trees in BC this week."
It costs your company nothing. It gives your team something to feel proud of on the way home. And it gives your leadership a verified sustainability story they can share long after the retreat wraps.
veritree is the newest part of how we host sustainable meetings and events. The resort is a Biosphere Committed Entity. Geothermal energy heats our pools and hot tubs, and every meeting room is set with glass pitchers of ice water, with no single-use plastic bottles.
Two people will take care of your retreat from start to finish.
Kristy Sing, our Group Sales & Revenue Manager, is your first call. She'll put together your proposal and contract, and she'll handle your final invoice once your retreat wraps.
Once you've booked, Michele, our Food & Beverage Manager, takes it from there. She'll work through your menus, room setup and schedule with you, and she'll be there with your team throughout your event.
Hand them the logistics. Ask them anything, including the questions you think you should already know the answer to.
Michele notices the small things. During one retreat, she overheard a guest say he liked a little heat with his food. She ran into town, and by the next meal, a bottle of hot sauce was waiting at his end of the table. Nobody had to ask.
That attention is why guests rank us #1 of 159 resorts in the Okanagan on Tripadvisor, and why retreat groups keep coming back.
If you want lake views, suites with full kitchens and fireplaces, one person to plan with and a package that spells out exactly what's included, Summerland is a strong fit.
Your team gets space to think. Your retreat plants trees in BC. And you get to be the planner who found the place.
